Issue # 001 - SUDDENLY! A Wild Thing Appears! [Action]
Falling dreams are normal. You lock up with a start in your bed whenever you hit the ground, blink up at the ceiling before rolling over and going back to bed. Or you wake up mid fall, hit the carpet, groan, then climb back in to fall asleep again. Or try to. They're universal. If you can fall or fly or know of the concept- you can have a falling dream.
Ben Grimm has flying dreams, most often. Not the ones where you sail along in the middle of nowhere in nothing but your pajamas- flight dreams of controls and cockpits and the thrill of the test. Pushing a carefully crafted machine to the limit and then some. Twisting mid air and hitting the highest peak before plummeting down with all the weight of gravity wrapping around his gut and giving it a solid yank. That's his kind of falling dream.
Normally when he has them, he wakes up when he hits the ground.
Waking up mid fall is odd.
Waking up literally mid-air?
A revolt'n development.
He can't see or hear past the rush of wind, can't really get a good look at the ground beyond an impression of trees, houses, water way out over to the side. No sign of Reed, Sue, or Johnny. Nowhere soft to land either.
"Aw $%#@%!"
The landing's rough. He's had rougher, but he thinks he skips a few times. Barrels through a few trees. Clips a building, glances off a roof somewhere. Lands in...he has no idea. But the wall shears open like tissue paper and he finally rumbles to a stop, swearing in a low, gravely voice.
"...hate when that happens."
[ooc: Break time if you like, Ben can land anywhere and everywhere- in your home, in front of your place of business, in the fountain. Find him wherever you want! Break time!]

[Action]
[He's not freaking out, so that's a point in his favor. Ben lifts a massive hand and waves to Barton. Wait. Barton?]
...look'n good for a dead guy.
[Action]
Ben, that was Clint in our world. He's from another.
[Action]
Clint stays silent for a long moment after that, trying to process it and not entirely sure that he can.
He swallows, throat suddenly dry, and is really glad that Sue interrupts.
It's still a shock though. He's dead. Another version of him is dead.
He probably looks very pale by this point.]
Thanks.
[It would be bad to start drinking at this time in the afternoon, right? He's gonna get through that bottle really quickly at this rate.]
My life took a very wrong turn somewhere. I blame Fury. I should've just stayed on vacation, aliens be damned.
[Action]
[Face, meet palm. You're going to become very good friends. Enjoy each other's company.]
Fury's an interest'n guy.
[Action]
[Sue offers an apologetic look.]
If you what the story, I'll tell you.
[Action]
[He sounds a bit absent and maybe it's rude but he really needs to sit down and the couch is just there.]
Interesting is one way of putting it.
[He pinches the bridge of his nose and considers it. On the one hand, it's difficult to resist and on the other...
On the other hand he's not sure it would help.]
Maybe another time. My own personal timeline is still giving me a headache. Not sure I want to deal with another just yet.
[Action]
Don't blame ya for that.
[Action]
[She shrugs]
Either way, this is Ben Grimm, the best friend I've ever had. He...sort of bounced into my living room. Looks like we'll be setting an extra place at the table.
[Action]
Pleased to meet you. I can see the bouncing, yes.
Um, Sue's been a good friend to me since I arrived.
[Action]
[Ben lifts a shoulder and manages a half smile. That sounds like Sue. Look'n out for people around her.]
Sweetest lady I ever knew, aside from my Aunt Petunia.
[Action]
[Of course, she's only turning ONE shade of scarlet]
You boys...flatterers.
[Action]
He winks at Sue, going to lean against one arm of the couch.]
Only telling the truth.
[Action]
[This was slightly more familiar. Enough that Ben's getting more comfortable with the mixed up universes and timelines. All in all it's just one more day for him and Sue- but having Reed to make sense of everything would help.]
[Action]
[She shakes her head]
How's your arm, Clint?
[Action]
He looks up against when Sue speaks to him.]
Good. Much better. I thought I might head out later to check how much work I need to do to get back in shape.
[Action]
Somth'n happen t'him? You. him?
[His attention flicks to Sue, back to Clint, then over to Sue. Answers. Can he have them?]
[Action]
[She sighs and moves her hair out of her face]
It was a bad day.
[Action]
It was stupid. I was stupid.
[And he still couldn't say that he wouldn't do it again if he was given the chance. If he was here alone then he's fairly sure he would have dedicated himself to little else.]
[Action]
[He couldn't blame Clint for it. Not really. Even if it wasn't the Loki they knew, it was a Loki, and that was reason enough for suspicion and caution.]
Came out alive in the end. That's what matters. Use it for the next time, if there's a next time.
[Action]
[She shrugs, and adds blithely]
If it comes to a fight, we'll handle him. He's got wings, after all.
[Action]
Heh, I guess there is that. Maybe this team thing isn't gonna be so bad.
[Action]
[Ben waves a hand over his own face with a half grin.]
Fights always go better when y'got people y'trust at your back. Suzie's helped me and Reed pull off some great stuff plentya times, and pulled our hides from th'fire.
[Action]
[She pats Ben on the arm]
And you do make for a wonderful projectile.
[Action]
[He can't help but smile at their obvious closeness though.]
Glad it seems to be working so well for you guys though.
[Action]
[He rumbles a soft laugh and grins over at Clint.]
Worked with our Hawkeye 'couplea times. It'd be nice t'do it again, especially if y'got all the same trick arrows.
