Issue # 001 - SUDDENLY! A Wild Thing Appears! [Action]
Falling dreams are normal. You lock up with a start in your bed whenever you hit the ground, blink up at the ceiling before rolling over and going back to bed. Or you wake up mid fall, hit the carpet, groan, then climb back in to fall asleep again. Or try to. They're universal. If you can fall or fly or know of the concept- you can have a falling dream.
Ben Grimm has flying dreams, most often. Not the ones where you sail along in the middle of nowhere in nothing but your pajamas- flight dreams of controls and cockpits and the thrill of the test. Pushing a carefully crafted machine to the limit and then some. Twisting mid air and hitting the highest peak before plummeting down with all the weight of gravity wrapping around his gut and giving it a solid yank. That's his kind of falling dream.
Normally when he has them, he wakes up when he hits the ground.
Waking up mid fall is odd.
Waking up literally mid-air?
A revolt'n development.
He can't see or hear past the rush of wind, can't really get a good look at the ground beyond an impression of trees, houses, water way out over to the side. No sign of Reed, Sue, or Johnny. Nowhere soft to land either.
"Aw $%#@%!"
The landing's rough. He's had rougher, but he thinks he skips a few times. Barrels through a few trees. Clips a building, glances off a roof somewhere. Lands in...he has no idea. But the wall shears open like tissue paper and he finally rumbles to a stop, swearing in a low, gravely voice.
"...hate when that happens."
[ooc: Break time if you like, Ben can land anywhere and everywhere- in your home, in front of your place of business, in the fountain. Find him wherever you want! Break time!]

[She shrugs]
Timeline problems. Space...time...continuum thing.
[action]
[He looks up from the book and raises a cracked ridge at her.]
That...Timey-Wimey Wibbly-wobbly $#%*@?
[action]
[Sue honestly laughs, a milk-glass bulldozer forming to push debris out of the Ben-shaped hole]
And yea, its like some crap out of Doctor Who.
[action]
[A lot happened since then. He'd missed plenty when he'd been in France. Caught up with Steve and Sue when he came back. Timelines are a pain.]
We made funovit f'a reason Suzie.
[action]
[She grimaces at the memory.]
Why don't we get you your pants back. And then you get to meet the neighbors.
[action]
[He frowns down at the mostly shredded pair he was wearing. They even fit. Musta been nice when they weren't a mess.]
Yeah....let's get on that.
[action]
[She looks down at his shredded pants, and the...ducky...underwear below]
You're still wearing those things?
[action]
[action]
[She beckons for Ben to follow, a roll of her eyes accompanying the idea of anything in Luceti being grand...]
[action]
[A low chuff of laughter as he falls in step behind her, avoiding the worst of the debris from his grand entrance.]
[action]
[And out into the hall they go]
Say, you didn't happen to land with a journal like mine, did you?
[action]
[Still he pats himself down, frowns at a little outline to one side of his shredded pants. Pulls it out from his waistband.]
Nevermind.
[action]
[She leads the way out of building 5]
I'll assume your going to take a bedroom with me, yea?
[action]
[He follows along, flipping through his journal to check the guide again. See if he missed anything vital. He'd spend most of the day doing that, checking and double checking, finding questions that hadn't been asked just yet.]
Can't think of anyone else that'd want me Suzie.
[action]
[She shrugs and keeps going, listing off names and ticking off fingers]
Oh, and there are some people from other universes...similar to ours, but not the same. Steve, Tony, Clint, Howard Stark, a young soldier named James Barnes from the 40s, Pepper Potts, and a physicist named Jane Foster from one reality. Yes, Howard is Tony's Dad. Logan, Ororo, and Rogue from another reality...but younger. Ororo hasn't met T'challa yet, so don't mention that. Then there's Peter...but he's really young. And Bruce. Right. Bruce. He's the only one from another universe where the Fantastic Four even exist.
[All in all, another day in weirdo cosmic travel for the Fantastic Four...]
Oh, and there's a Loki running around. Two of them, the kid I mentioned, and an older one. He's the one that's from Steve and Tony's reality. Not as strong as ours, I think. But he hasn't done anything to anyone that wasn't in self defense. I've just been avoiding him.
[action]
[Strange, but they've been in stranger circumstances. Didn't make this development any less revolt'n, but he had Sue and that was enough. Being here alone would've driven him bugnuts soon enough.]
Think we could get a poker night go'n?
[Something normal. Ish.]
[action]
[She says that with a hint of sadness.]
Don't be surprised if Pepper tries to run you off. She's his secretary girlfriend or something. I've met her once back home, but this one seems a bit snappier.
[and then a nod]
Absolutely. Poker would be great.
[action]
[Pepper? He kind of remembers her from before. Or at least hearing about her. Or reading. Or someone saying something. He'd never paid the woman much mind.]
Do ya really think an accountant is gonna scare me Suzie? It'd be a signa good will, me invt'n him over f'dinner and Poker.
...
After we fix up th'hole I left in the place.
[action]
And...don't worry. The place will self-repair in a few hours.
[action]
[He shrugs, slows to a stop and just. Blinks at the back of her head.]
...Really?
[action]
[She nods slowly]
Yea, those Malnosso guys have a self-repair program running over the entire village.
[action]
[At least Sue was here. He reminds himself of that with every step.]
Convenient. It'll save us a lot of trouble.
[action]
[And out onto the street they go!]
Definitely. I've had my living room wall torn up at least three times now.
[action]
How long does it usually take?
[action]
[And off they go!]
